Embarkation was pretty smooth, considering the size of the ship. Did the transatlantic portion with little problems except for bad weather and some of the worst beds that i ever slept on . But once we left hamburg de we parked way out of Copenhagen because the ship was too large. We followed a Celebrity ship until Stockholm . The Celebrity was always docked close to town at a normal cruise ship dock, we were out in never, never land.

The cruise singers and dancers put on some great shows. Some of the other entertainment was just so so. The Princess cruise ship staff was trying to do there best with mixed results. The food in the dining room was for the most part excellent. The lido was food was good. And we liked the fresh veggies, nuts and fruits. The layout of the lido had you going back and forth to get the items you wanted, thus your warm food became cold. I did like the service by waiters in the lido and most did a fine job. They need to limit the amount of some of the fresh fruit like papayas. So all passengers have some. We seen plenty of passenger just take trays full of the above without any control at all.

The outside movies were a waste of time because of the weather. They need to have a sliding top like on HAL ships. So you can use the pool area in all weather. Watching a movie in the vista lounge was mixed because the you can't see the movie from about 20% of the seats and seats every each way. The guest speaker did a fine job, however they need more speakers just one was not enough, on the transatlantic portion. Disembarkation was a joke. Couldn't find anyone who would take a claim for broken luggage wheels, 1 hour + wait for a taxi.

Cabin Review

Cabin BC

If your used to HAL, or CCL pillow top mattresses. You will find these the worst mattresses of any cruise line. I can't remember not ever not getting a good nights sleep on any cruise line. Including the old Royal Princess and Sun Princess. This was confirmed by many on board with same experience. My cabin steward and his supervisor finally found us some old mattress pads that helped, But didn't solve the problem. My entire 28 nights I was drugged with PM OR NITE QUILL. Not acceptable. The cabin and balcony were small compared to others I have taken. Note this was the most I ever paid per night for a cabin, and it was not very good. The only good thing I can say was the TV system and the closet and bathroom was normal
