This was our 2nd cruise on RCCL. We've cruised on Carnival, Norwegian and Costa.
Embarkation: Arrived in terminal, needed to check bags. Despite having our tags already on the bags, they made us stand in line rather than leaving our bags to be loaded (as other ports have done). When they took the bags it became clear the only reason for the line was so we could give them a tip. Not cruise line's fault, but still annoying. However the suite VIP boarding cut out a lot of waiting, which my knees appreciated.
Ship: Beautiful ship. Loved the decor. Loved the room (grand suite). However, there wasn't a minibar menu for several days, so we didn't know the mini bar wasn't free until 3.4 of the way thorough the cruise. Also, on the 1st sea day, the lock battery died, so we had to wait for them to replace it. Here's a tip RCCL - preventive maintenance. Replace batteries before your guests get locked out when dripping wet from the pool. One issue in Windjammer- my fault I admit- the chairs in the windjammer have low clearance, so when I pulled the chair under me and started the sit down, the edge hit my heal as I sat and I twisted my ankle. Again, my fault for not being careful, but be warned so you don't end up with a sprained ankle like I did. We loved the Solarium. Having late dinner seating, we'd go there shortly before 6 and have our choice of seats. The suite guest pool area was too exposed for us, so we didn't use it.
Loved the room. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of storage for 2 people. Curtain can be pulled across bedroom area to separate it from the sitting area. Bathroom had 2 sinks. Tub was a bit high to get into, and the drain was slow, but the water pressure was solid. Overall, the best room I've ever had on a cruise ship.
