Sail Date: May 2014

This was our third time sailing aboard the Disney Dream and our first cruise as Gold Castaway Club Members. We chose a Concierge-level stateroom as we were also celebrating our wedding during our stop in Nassau!

If I could afford to sail Concierge-level on every sailing (we're embarking on number 9 in three months), I absolutely would. The Dream-class ships with Disney (the Dream and her sister ship, the Fantasy) not only have regular concierge services, but also an exclusive lounge and sundeck. We spent a lot of time in the lounge, and of the 30 passengers that sailed with us to celebrate our wedding, 12 of us sailed Concierge-level.

The one thing I love about the Bahamian 3-night sailing is the fact that you absolutely do not have to leave the ship when it's in port in Nassau. That was my wedding day and while my husband and his friends took a snorkel excursion, my mom and I and some of my friends spent the day at a very not-crowded-at-all spa and rainforest room. Since we'd seen Nassau on two previous sailings, I didn't feel like I was missing a thing by not setting foot onshore.

Cabin Review

Cabin V

Excellent cabin at the end of the hall. Very close to the pool, which is why we chose it in the first place. Just next to the stairs that lead right into the Concierge Lounge. The room was massive. The service was impeccable. I loved that we had a doorbell because we sailed with a party of 30 to celebrate our wedding, so we always had guests stopping by. I wish I could always afford to cruise Concierge-level, but I have to tell you that I receive a very similar level of service whether I cruise concierge or not. I love DCL and would definitely sail in this stateroom again.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Spent the day onboard in the spa to prep for my wedding. It was an excellent experience -- not busy at all in the spa or rainforest room.

I highly recommend the rainforest room on any Disney Cruise. There are showers and saunas and steam rooms, and on the newer ships (Dream and Fantasy), there are two open-deck private hot tubs. Very easy to relax and/or lose track of time in there!

Castaway Cay

We perennially love Castaway Cay. This time, we booked a private cabana at Serenity Bay. It was worth every penny -- secluded, shaded, sunscreen, chilled towels, your own hammock... We split the cost with another couple and would not hesitate to book a cabana again.
