We have just returned from a 7 night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords on Britannia and we absolutely loved it. We are a couple in our thirties who have cruised twice before (both times with Celebrity) and wanted to try cruising with our 14 month old. We chose Britannia mainly because P&O offered a good price for our baby, we wanted to leave from Southampton and we fancied trying P&O's latest ship.

Baby/child facilities - We were provided with baby food (HIPP organic jars) from the Horizon buffet, there was a baby tea in the buffet each evening or baby food was heated and served as we ate our dinner in the Oriental restaurant. We requested a baby bath from housekeeping which looked brand new and arrived within 10 minutes. We had a Graco travel cot in our cabin when we arrived. The Reef kid's club was excellent and although our daughter was too young to be left there for the day, we were able to accompany her to the soft play and sit with her when they put a movie on in the evenings. A night nursery was also provided.

The lifts - having read the negative reviews, we were prepared for problems. Yes the central lifts could get very busy but there are lifts and stairs at each end of the ship and it really was not that bad. We mainly used a baby carrier getting around the ship (rather than the buggy) and this worked out well for us. We never felt we had to wait too long for a lift to arrive.
