Let me start with the only negative in our experience and that was at embarkation. we had been given on our paperwork a time of 1.55pm to arrive for embarkation. However we soon discovered that allotted times were totally disregarded and it was on a first come first served basis. We had to wait over two hours to get on board which was totally unacceptable. Top tip as soon as you are able present yourself for boarding ignore any time you have been given as our experience was of a first come first boarding.

Now the good bit we were in a lovely cabin 11021 which had everything you could wish for and as this was our first experience of cruising we had been apprehensive about how much space we would have however there was ample space. The bed was so comfortable it was sometimes a struggle getting up. The room was cleaned to a very high standard each day. The ship itself is stunning with two major public passages dissected by the grand lobby decorated with metal murals surrounded by rich colours giving a real feel of opulence. The Britannia dining room was a great place in which to dine. The food was excellent complimented by attentive service. You could be as active as you wanted as each day was packed with speakers, quizzes, and activities such as the use of a golf simulator etc. The entertainment programme was varied and there was something for everyone. To sum up this was for us a fabulous introduction to cruising and one we thoroughly enjoyed. Top tip if you are making your own travel arrangements into New York it is to take your luggage off early yourself and you should sail through American immigration quickly. We were in our hotel in Mid Town by 8am.

Balcony

Cabin BB

Great cabin near the bow ,away from any noise of lifts etc. This cabin had ample wardrobe space with easy storing of suitcases beneath the bed. The bathroom was fine with a decent space for showering. The balcony gave you a great view and would be perfect if you were in a warm climate. You are only a few steps from a glass fronted lift to take you down to the food court. A very relaxing experience.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Embarkation was a total shambles with no organisation apparent. We had been given a specific time to arrive which we duly adhered to. When we turned up it was clear that embarkation was on a first come first serve basis which meant waiting over two hours beyond our allotted time to get on board.
