I have sailed on Norwegian before and expected a lot more than I received on this cruise. I was told the ship holds 4000 guests with double occupancy. There were over 4500 on this cruise!!!! With one swimming pool.....it was almost impossible to believe! There was a kids pool and a kids water play area and yet one day the adult pool stage was taken over by Nickelodean, and it was a day at sea when everyone wanted to hang out at the pool. There are lots of specialty restaurants and I did get to go to one of them. When attempted to book restaurants on Saturday, first day on the ship, and dinner was available at ONE only...everything else was booked.

The Taste and Savor restaurants were located opposite each other mid ship, there was no wonderful chefs parade because both are long and narrow. On three occasions dining the waitstaff stood in one place and passed dishes across the table. On every occasion, that was the way drinks were served. The food was good, but definitely not anything to write home about. The flounder I ordered tasted like it came out of a frozen food box. I did complain and was told that frying it dries it out, that's why it tastes that way. One night we were told to go to the other main dining room and said we would wait, didn't want to go to the other, they sat the six of us immediately with no wait.

The three story atrium is used for all kinds of venues. The newlywed show....which is slightly risque, but there were children in the atrium. Movies were shown in the atrium!!! Keep in mind this is also where guest services, a bar/lounge, and the desk for shore excursions....you could barely hear one another. The main hallway from the atrium to restaurants was often being used to sell art, and take photos, so passing through was often putting yourself and any drink you were carrying, at risk. When someone selling art bumped into me and spilled my drink on my blouse and skirt, I was offered another drink!! Also, I could send my drycleaning bill to them when I arrived home and had them cleaned. I asked to have the $10 taken off my bill, no can do!
