This was our second cruise with Oceania. The first was on the Marina on the Baltic cruise about 2 years ago. We enjoyed that one so we tried another one.

This time we did the 8 day western Mediterranean cruise between Barcelona and Rome. The ships (Marina vs Riviera) are almost identical, with the only difference I detected being in design elements like furniture or rugs. The service on the Riviera was just as good as it was on the Marina, maybe even better. We also met a couple of crew members (one of them a senior manager) whom we had met on the Marina.

Our cruise was to include 8 ports of call, but we didn’t make it to 2 of them because of high seas. In one case, we landed in an alternate port (Genoa Italy instead of Portofino), but in the other case, because of the distance involved, we lost the day and ported in the next day’s port in the evening before the scheduled porting, instead of the next morning. I have no complaints with Oceania in this regard. Everything was dealt with professionally, and the best was made of a potentially difficult situation.

The cabin was fine. It was very conveniently located near the aft elevators and stairs.
