First, let me say hello to A & P. Sorry you did not enjoy your cruise! Hope you had fun surprising your mom with the good news. It was nice meeting you both.

Now, on to our review. First, let me say that I do read some of the member reviews and I don't understand how bad information gets written. You cannot order the drink of the day and get it cheaper by ordering it in a plain glass. You do not have white table cloths in Horizon at night. They do put out wine glasses though. We came off a Celebrity cruise which was horrible for entertainment, so it was a 180 when we got on the Royal as far as things to do. I agree, the comedian was the best entertainment. I thought the ship singing competition would have garnered more interest and more contestants, but it took place in Princess Live, which is a small venue. I enjoyed the Princess Live broadcasts and thought Lisa did a good job as cruise director. Our experience for embarkation was fast, fast. We sat in our designated area a little while and once we were called, we walked right on and our luggage was already in front of our cabin D424, which had a little larger balcony. The cabin had tons of storage space and we did not miss the couch we usually have. I do bring four storage cubes though and three fit in nicely on the shelf above the closet rod and one went into the stacked shelves with the safe. No more extension cords for the hair dryer on this ship and I enjoyed the free bathrobes (by request).

I did that little scavenger hunt thing when we first boarded and the most painful part was taking the spa tour. It was informative but very time consuming and high pressure sales to book a three pack for that day. As for dining, we started off in Concerto, but the second day my husband had a bad experience with a pubic hair (qualified and confirmed by the retired gynecologist at the table next to us) found on the tablecloth and we moved over to Symphony. Even though I reported it to the front desk, no one ever got back to us. Not even a strawberry or apology came our way.

Cabin BA

Our cabin was very comfortable. Lots of places to put your clothes and lots of hangars. I took four collapsible storage cubes, too. There are two nightstands with drawers as well. And the desk had three deep drawers. The desk also had little side shelves. The bathroom was comfortable with a nice hand shower. We had an extended balcony so we did not feel so cramped.

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

This was a beautiful beach and a nice place to relax and watch the blue water and view of the ship. I would have really liked to have gone to the other side to have seen Patti LaBelle's house. Don't forget anything because the trinkets are super expensive. This is a tender in/out.
