Cabin: Balcony Stateroom with Shower

2 nights in Venice at Hilton Garden Inn just 5 mins.bus ride to Venice. Borded quickly and were slightly disappointed having previously sailed on Cunard Elizabeth. Oceana is showing her age a little with worn wood and signs of rust. We had a balcony cabin close to the lift area but did not suffer noise etc. Cabin is a bit small also bathroom a squeeze. Soon settled in though and it became a comfortable home from home.

All public areas are elegant and pleasing. We sat on a table for 8 and enjoyed good company-the talk is always on past holidays and you can pick up lots of tips on where to try next. Weather all week was warm and sunny with very smooth sailing. Ports visited including Kotor in Montenegro-super cruising through deep Fijord-then onto Corfu ,always great. Through the Messina straight seeing Mount Etna on Sicily and the island of Stromboli. Rome came next( we took the train stopping at St Peters 9 euros return-quick and cheap avoiding expensive rushed tours). Lastly stopped in Monte Carlo and visited Nice and Cannes-our old favorites. Disembarked at Genoa having booked an extra night and was upgraded to Hotel Grande Savoia. Enjoyed all shore days greatly. Entertainment on board was first class-enjoyed Mr Roy Walker who packed out the room everytime he performed. Went to the cinema-listened to a classical piano concert-there is always plenty going on for all tastes. We found all the public rooms elegant and stylish with comfortable seating -interesting decor-music playing etc. We must compliment all the crew from the waiters and stewards upwards for a first class service supplied always with a smile.

We recommend this ship unreservedly for quality and good value. Meals are British oriented and the Bar prices very affordable. We would sail with PO and Oceana in a heartbeat.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom with Shower

Cabin JA

Small but perfectly formed-good queen size bed-ample wardrobe and drawer space. Small shower but clean and always hot water-nice hair products. Kept very clean by our steward Jona-thank you. Small balcony but could sit comfortably and take in the views.

Port Reviews

Venice

Arrived 2 days earlier than the cruise as part of package -so did our own sightseeing-Did visit the island of Burano which we really enjoyed-a must see we believe.

Corfu

Ship bus took straight to town which we know quite well-great for shopping .walking near sea and pavement cafes. We loved it and know that tours around the island are beautiful but have done that before.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Know Rome from past visits -so after research on internet took Train from port (9 Euros return) so cheap fast and comfortable. Visited the cistine chapel this time . Used taxis in Rome to visit Piazza Navarone to eat lunch. Train back at 4 pm. Do not like organised rushed tours.

Genoa

Booked extra night here before flight home on 14th May. Upgraded to Hotel Grande Savoia. Gritty town-area around port area a bit nervy.
