This is my second Mediterranean Cruise, my eighth cruise or ninth cruise, and my second Norwegian Cruise. The ship itself is very nice, all kinds of amenities, including a bowling alley, and a rock climbing wall. We sailed on May 1st and had some kids but mostly little ones and some home schooled kids, I would assume later in the season there would be more kids, which shouldn't bother all adult parties as they also have an all adult pool. The room was nice, though not particularly big, it seems more space was allocated to the balcony which we loved. The bathroom seemed small when we first saw it, I was traveling with my adult son for Mother's Day, but we got used to it, and it worked out for the best. Just pulled the curtain when either one of us wanted to change. What really got to me was the service, which was awful, I mean awful, with the exception of our cabin steward; he was really good and always checked on us, and one or two waiters, but for the most part, it was not good. Maybe it's lack of training, bar service was really slow, not trained as real bartenders, to make multiple drinks at a time, everything was slow.

Internet service was poor, we signed up for unlimited service, we felt sorry for those paying by the minute, the timer would start ticking away but the connection was not there. Here is one of our service points, we got charged twice for unlimited service, I had to stand in line for at least an hour at guest services to report this and then I was told that they had to check with the internet cafe manager who did not open for another 10 minutes. Then I got a call saying they were sorry, we had ordered both of them. I then poke to the internet cafe manager, he told me of course it was common sense and it would be taken care of, I was just annoyed that it wasn't common sense to guest services to start with and when we got off the ship it still had not been taken care off. The unlimited drink packages, was for alcohol only, we did not find out until after we paid $10 for two big bottles of water and some other fee for a cappuccino. That's what we get for not reading the fine print, definitely not worth it, despite how hard we tried!! The shore excursions have gotten so expensive we did most of those on our own, and were fine with that.

Had no real problems embarking/disembarking, just that they wanted everything printed out, not just on our phones, but they worked with us. They did a good job of handling the large number of people going on and off the ship. The food was not great, the same menu at the sit down dinner every night, the Garden Cafe was ok. I don't feel we should have to pay extra for a good meal at one of the specialty restaurants and that that has led a decline in the quality of food in the main restaurant. The gym was awesome, and they had a jogging track which was not very crowded. In summary, we enjoyed our vacation, the ship was very nice, enjoyed the balcony, the destinations, but I think I will try another cruise line for our Alaskan cruise later on this year.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

The cabin was small, but no bigger or smaller than they are on other cruise ships. I liked the bathroom layout, separate shower and stall with glass like walls, not see through, you could just close off a curtain if you wanted privacy to change in between the shower and the separate toilet, but otherwise it was part of the room. The cabin steward was great, always there to see if we needed anything. My first time with a balcony, and really enjoyed that. The walking space between the bed and the cabinets towards the balcony is tight, as others have pointed out, but so what. Maybe the room was a little smaller because of the balcony, but we really enjoyed it.
