This was to be my week of pure relaxation and fun in the sun following a grueling season of tax preparation. This being my first cruise I wasn't really sure what to expect. I had envisioned sipping a cold beverage, reading a book poolside while basking in the sun with the warm ocean breeze blowing gently through my hair. A tranquil visit to the spa for a Swedish massage followed by Burn The Floor and Legally Blonde stage performances. And finally, several days of shore excursions and casino visits all while taking in great food and drink. Unfortunately I have to say the majority of my envisions were met with great disappointment.

However at this time I would like to point out the positives of my experience. Ship was newer and had nice decor and was always maintained very well. Cabin steward was exceptional and always there if we needed him...thanks Anthony. Room with balcony was nice. Took a great tour of the ship and was not disappointed. I ate at five specialty restaurants as well as the buffet's and always thought the food was great or excellent. And finally, each and every crew member from the laundry room to the Bridge I encountered treated me with respect and professionalism beyond compare. Exceptional crew!!!

Now, to the disappointments. Poolside never happened, with 4100+ passengers and a crew of 1163, the postage stamp sized pool was always elbow to elbow crowded and extremely noisy. Attempts to locate a lounge chair nearby were to no avail. Room was nice but lacked outlets especially in the bathroom and once the lights were out no ability to charge cell phones and i-pads. My Spa visit did not go well at all. Pricey compared to what I'm use to. I had concerns about the massage due to a blood thinner I'm on so I questioned the therapist and Dr. regarding what type to have. Both agreed on the Swedish style. From the very beginning of the massage the was considerable noise in the hallway which I ignored. As it got louder and clunking noises started above me as well I ask the therapist what was going on. She apologized to me and left the room. Once she returned it just got worse to the point I could feel myself frowning and finally ask her to stop. We rescheduled, but the next day I noticed numerous bruises about my body and canceled. I was not charged.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

Positives: Cabin steward keep room immaculate at all times and was always there if we needed him. Loved the balcony overlooking ocean. Room size was adequate for two people.

Negatives: Original vacation consisted of four people...never would have happened in that room. Sleeping area would have worked...but clothing and personal items space was not even enough room for two. Lack of outlets especially in bathroom. And the inability to charge cells, laptops and i-pads overnight. When lights go out...no power in outlets.
