My husband & I and our 2 best friends flew into Miami from Detroit on Friday, the day before our cruise. We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Biscayne Blvd. They say location is everything? Wow, this hotel had it all. About 15 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from the pier and right across the street from Bayside Market Place. We checked into our hotel around 11a.m. Room was not quite ready, so we over to Bayside and had a huge margarita and lunch at Bubba Gumps. SOOO GOOD. Lots of places to eat and drink and shop. Something for everyone. Went back to hotel and room was ready for us at 1 o'clock. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, very reasonable 189.00 per night. That was cheap for that area, but book early {fills up fast}. Went back to Bayside around 6 o'clock p.m. Live entertainment started around 8 o'clock. Band was playing everything and anything. Could dance in the street under the stars. The night was perfect. After band was done playing, got a pizza. Went back to hotel and waited for morning. FINALLY, morning arrived, checked out about 10 a.m. There were cabs already in front of the hotel {$10.00} for the cab so we grabbed one and were at the pier by 10:30. Embarkation was so easy and fast. Didn't even need to use the Platinum Line. We were checked in, had our seapass cards and were sitting in the windjammer by 11:30, or sooner, can't remember times exactly. We just know it went real smooth... Went to cabin at l p.m. Our balcony room was beautiful. Lots of drawers and closet space. We had an adjoining room with our friends and the cabin attendant unlocked the door between the 2 rooms. He also unlocked the balcony partition between the balconies. That made it really nice and big and open. We had coffee & danish on our balcony in the morning & pizza or sandwiches from Sorrento's and Cafe Promenade at night before bedtime. SOOO NICE!!! Next we started to explore the ship. WHAT A BEAUTY. The Royal Promenade was big and colorful with lots of places to eat, drink & shop. Went to find our table in the Botticelli Dining Room. A table for 4 right by the window. PERFECT! Our waitress was very good but our assistant waiter Savio was excellent. He had the cutest giggle. One night we had surf & turf {shrimp & steak} I said to him Do you know what surf & turf back home to us is? I said it was sardines & hotdogs. On our last night as we were saying goodbye to Savio, he said "so its back to sardines & hotdogs for you maam? I miss him and his little laugh. We then headed up to the flowrider. Never tried it but had fun watching others. Dan and Randy played a game of mini golf. Most of our afternoons were spent poolside. Enjoyed the bellyflop & sexy legs contests. Always fun. Loved the cantilevered hot tubs. Not too hot, just right. At night, there was always something going on. Went to most of the shows. Liked the comedian, especially the midnight version. Really funny. Also like the impersonator, could do Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis,Elvis, etc. The "In Air" show was okay...felt my head bobbing a few times. Just a tip... for the shows in the theatre, make sure you get there early. We found it hard a couple of times to find a seat. The ice show was phenomenal. Again, get there early. {no need to get tickets before, anymore} All in all, entertainment was good and fun. Like I said earlier, I have been on most of rccl's class of ships and I think the Liberty is now my new favorite ship. She was always clean and shining, the crew forever helpful and smiling, and most passengers consistently happy. Would love to book another cruise on this ship again...SOON!!!

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Our balcony was great. I believe it was about 70 square feet. Enough room for 4 chairs and a table and then some. We would definitely reserve that category again {D2}. The cabin was 214 sq. feet. and was very spacious and bright. Lots of nooks and crannies to store things. The flat screen tv was a bonus as was the curved shower doors, instead of the famous shower curtains people have grown so fond of on past cruises. And the bedding... MMM, SO COMFY!
