Sail Date: May 2015

After a year of grumbling about being 'dragged' onto a DISNEY cruise by my wife, daughter, and grand-daughter, I have to admit that this was the best of the three cruises I’ve been on.

I have to start by debunking a suspicion that I had that Disney cruises are for kids. That is not the case. In fact, I met an intelligent and well spoken couple from Pennsylvania who were on their 21st Disney Cruise without kids. I was afraid that all those kids would be annoying, but that didn’t happen. The little people were happy as clams and, therefore, for the most part, fun to behold.

The ship is decorated in a rich, sumptuous art deco style. I explored every public space; for once I didn’t mind having to spend a lot of time in bathrooms. The food was plentiful, of course, and very good (but not as good as Princess.) Because there is a relatively low proportion of adults the promenade deck was usually nearly empty. If you like to walk or jog, or if you want to read with the ocean as your visual and susurrus companion, this place was heaven. The Internet hook-up was fast. I bought the 300 mb package for $40 and only used half of it. On previous cruises the Internet was sold by the minute which is way-aggravating because you are always rushing and making typos.

Cabin Review

Cabin 5A

Very nice room with light-tight drape to close off sleeping area.
