We got to room 8020 on 4/14 to find no shower head or hose, inches of brackish water in the bathtub, broken bars in medicine chest and no curtains at all.SO NOT READY FOR PASSENGERS. When I called to ask for curtains, I was told there were none. All 3 were remedied by 9 PM as we lay exhausted from our trip from LA to Rome that day. Our stateroom steward, Made, helped get the room fixed that first day and did an excellent job throughout the cruise;but why wasn't the room ready?

The hot water didn't work in shower at all first week. Toilet in our room and public areas worked sporadically during 3 week cruise, but worst the first 12 days. Once the shower worked, the tub never drained properly so I was sliding on the safety mat in tub through every shower. I called twice to ask that this be fixed. The loud noises and awful smells often went from 6:30 am until 9 at night including weekends. This was not the trip we signed up for.

There was no Crow's Nest. Closed for construction until 4/24 even though we didn't know this until we boarded. The 10th floor Explorer cafe and library were also closed and opened later in the cruise. There was constant construction noise: pinging, banging and sawing which was especially bad the first 12 days and continued to make our room and the mid Lido deck seem to be a construction site. All this was accompanied by sewage smells on most floors mixed with paint, lacquer and other solvent smells on the 8th, 9th and 10th floors...extreme HALitosis.
