We booked this cruise in July of 2014, through a major online sight during one of their sales promotions. An inside GTY for $699pp with $450 of OBC seemed like a fairly sweet deal for 14 nights, but the prices dropped even LOWER after final payment! Being retired with no schedule, I will probably NEVER book early again.
We found a DIRT CHEAP flight from the thriving megalopolis and Cultural Center of the Known Universe, (Fargo) to MIA for only $131pp by connecting through Denver on a red eye. Friends from a previous cruise picked us up at MIA, and we enjoyed an early lunch with great company before they dropped us at Port Everglades. Thanks Stu and Marcie!
We arrived at the pier just after 12:30 and dropped all of our bags (along with a couple of 12 packs of Coke) with the porters, and strolled through security in less than 90 seconds. We waited in line less than 5 minutes before a very friendly agent took our passports and express pass, and in less than five more minutes, had completed our check in and issued us our sea pass cards.
This is the first time we had a cabin where the BED was near the entrance, and the sitting area was on the far side. We didn't like this arrangement at all, and will always book future cabins where the sitting area is near the entrance.
