Our two respective moms in their 70's and us in our 40's were on this fabulous ship and itinerary. I am an avid celebrity fan, particularly for The Eclipse and it didn't disappoint. The staff is exceptional, lead by Sue Denning. The entertainment was varied and with few exceptions, excellent.
The itinerary included Miami, Bermuda, Azores, Lisbon, Bilbao, Le Havre and Southampton. We had a tour with Gary Travassos Tours in the Azores with whom we would book again. In Lisbon we took a fabulous taxi tour for €100 for a three hour tour for the four of us. The weather finally improved by the time we got to France. In Le Havre we booked with Overlord Tours to Normandy which was a true highlight of the trip.
The dining options are omnipresent. We did not go to the specialty restaurants. The MDR was generally OK for us. As I am a vegetarian, the choices were limited as usual and the pasta was not very good at all. The portions were fine for us. The service was exceptional. The buffet options were also very good, particularly at lunch.
The bed was positioned against the window. The mothers were in cabin 6189. A nice thing about our cabin was that despite it being on deck six, the cabin view was positioned in between two life boats that improved the view significantly.
