This was our thirteenth cruise overall, the second on Royal Caribbean. We are Diamond Club members because of the reciprocal arrangement RCI has with Celebrity. We were traveling with our adult daughters and their husbands and another "seasoned citizen" couple, also in their 60's and we were celebrating a milestone birthday and anniversary. We all had veranda cabins on the tenth deck. We booked this cruise because it was leaving from and returning to Bayonne, NJ at the time we wanted.

The Quantum of the Seas is, no doubt, the prototype of the future of cruising. It is beautiful, massive, clean and packed with things to do that will keep anyone who wants to be entertained, entertained. The food, beverages, entertainment and service range from good to very good. Despite its size It is surprisingly easy to find your way around and, with the exception of the pool areas, it does not feel overcrowded. From beginning to end it is technologically advanced.

Getting on and off the ship was the easiest process we have been through on any cruise thanks to the many RCI employees armed with tablets who greet you when you arrive and confirm your on-line check-in. (Twenty minutes from entering the terminal to walking on the ship!) Getting off was just as easy. Without a doubt the Quantum is the favorite ship (out of three) on which any of the thirty year olds in our group had previously sailed. Why then is it not my favorite ship?

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Nice cabin with plenty of storage. Clean with enough room to move around without bumping into other people.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Been there several times in the past and don't want to visit there again. It is rated the most dangerous port of call for cruise ships for a reason. We stayed on the ship and enjoyed its facilities during our stop in Nassau.

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

We have sailed out of Bayonne on three other cruises and it keeps improving each time. This was by far our best experience. We like to sale from Bayonne because we don't need to fly and we can bring on the shoes my wife can fit into our suitcases.
