Pride of America is the only ship that is stationed in Hawaii and embarks from Honolulu rather than having to spend days at sea to arrive there. We had more days to spend on the islands and therefore were able to visit more ports. Choosing any cruise gives you the opportunity to see several of the islands without spending the extra money on flights to and from islands. We found this much less stressful than finding our own way around.
We had previously sailed on the Norwegian Pearl. Once on the Pride, we found the ship less cared for than the Pearl. This was noticeable in the cleanliness of the carpets and also of our stateroom. Upon arriving, we found our floor not vacuumed, our bathroom floor not clean, lights not working and a drawer that would hardly open. We reported these items and they were taken care of. This will benefit those to follow but it would have been nice to have had those items fixed prior to our arrival by performing a thorough inspection. We realize the ship has a very short turn around time each Saturday but it was our first experience on thus ship and we found it less than wonderful.
Food was adequate but not outstanding to say the least.
