Cabin: Balcony Stateroom

We had a nice room with a balcony. This was our first cruise, and my 60th birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the people next to us, with whom we shared a common wall, were loud..VERY VERY loud, screaming, angry, foul mouthed drunks.

The first night I thought I might have needed to call the police, it was that bad. After the 2nd night of horrible abusive screaming and loud crying, all night and into the am, wailing, as if someone died, I finally made a complaint, which they merely wrote down and said to call again if it happens. Which it did. So they called security. That did not help. We called security again, and spoke to the head of security, after 5 or 6 nights of this, they had nothing to offer us, but finally gave us a free dinner at a restaurant..at 8:45 pm. They would not move the other people, clearly out of line and made the trip very scary and disturbing. After six days they said they had one available room..but we did not want to move with only 2 nights left. They could have offered something better for such a disturbance, but they really did not care. I asked for one of our tickets to be reimbursed for another trip and they said absolutely not.

Basically, they acted as if calling to see how things were was good customer service, when in fact they should have found a different room much much earlier. They did not even penalize the couple who were screaming and cursing up until departure on the final day.

Balcony Stateroom

we had a stateroom with a baloney on the 9th floor. We loved it. I was hoping, as promised, for an upgrade, but we didn't get one.
