This was our third cruise on the Spirit and our eighth with Thomson. Quite simply you get what it says on the tin....The Spirit is not a floating theme park or a 5 star floating hotel....it is a cruise ship that delivers a level of service, comfort and entertainment well above the price tag you pay.

It is true that the Spirit is a bit dated but she is a grand old lady that still delivers the goods. The ship is immaculately clean, the crew work hard to make sure it stays that way, the communal areas are comfortable and there are plenty of areas to relax in. Cabins, again perhaps a little dated are in the main spacious, always clean and comfortable.

The food is good and varied, lots of choice to be had in both the Lido or the Compass Rose or for that special meal the Sirocco (at an extra charge). The staff have always got a smile on their faces and they provide an excellent level of service...some of the best I have experienced anywhere.

Cabin Review

Cabin Outside Double

Deck 2, and perhaps a little noisy but extremely spacious. TV, hairdryer, continental sockets so you will need an adaptor...and only one of them. The cabin was kept immaculate by our cabin staff, made up in the morning and turned down in the evening. Some corridor noise but this was down to inconsiderate passengers rather than anything else.
