I should have done this while things were fresher in my mind but have been trying to catch up at work and home.
We flew down the night before and stayed at the Miramar Hotel. I had called prior to let them know we wouldn't be in until after midnight and they had no problem with that. The staff was very nice, the rooms were very clean and there was a 24/7 café almost across the street with decent food. There was a store close by to pick up the last minute items/wine before getting a taxi to the port.
We got to the port about 11:45. The line started moving at 12:00 and we were in the windjammer by 12:30.
We took an open bus tour to a beach, the driver told us all about the island as we went. The tour was very pretty and informative. The beach was clean and beautiful.
We took the water taxi over to the beach. We got chairs and umbrellas right in front of the Honky Tonk. They took very good care of us, the food was great and he even took our orders and brought them to our chairs.
We took a quick taxi into town to do some shopping. The vendors there are vultures! It was horrible. They would get mad at you if you bought something from someone else and the amount of drugs they tried selling us was very annoying.
We took a taxi to a beautiful beach to relax under the sun. We rented 2 chairs and umbrellas for only $15.00. It worked out great. We had no problems getting a taxi back to the ship
We do all our excursions on our own. They are just to expensive through RCCL. We just make sure we choose reputable vendors. On San Juan we toured the old Fort and walked around Old San Juan
We walked around town and did a little shopping. There are some really cute vendors there. It was a clean area with very nice people. I got some great t-shirts for a nice price.
