My family and I took our first cruise back in October on the Norwegian SKY. We loved it very much and decided we would try Carnival to visit Jamaica and Grand Cayman.

We were told Carnival is known for being a "Party Cruise". We ignored the warning and decided to see for ourselves. Well-we were in for a LOUD and definitely not a family friendly cruise. I understand fun...but this main pool area was so obnoxiously loud and geared towards the "party crowd"...that there was no time for relaxation and just enjoying our children and vacation time at Sea. Unfortunately, there were 2 "fun" days at sea and the kids wanted to use the waterslide, which was in the "loud pool area". Don't get me wrong...there is a small area on the back of the ship where adults can find a quieter pool area...but we couldn't leave our kids alone at the waterslide area...so that was not an option for us.

As far as other areas of the disappointing ship experience, I did not care for the scheduled dinner times. We had the 6pm seating time. I didn't like the limited flexibility we had with that. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about.

Cabin 6B

Cabin was OK. Bunk Bed was useful for the kids. The steward was actually great in taking care of it each day.

The noise outside the cabin was very loud and effected our sleep greatly.

Port Reviews

Miami

Getting on the boat was easy. Getting off the boat was super disorganized and long waits all around.

The disembarking process was long and not organized
