It was our first cruise and we travelled with a group of 6 couples and kids from 2-17 yrs. we liked the social aspect of traveling with friends but found the food, entertainment and activities didn't meet our expectations. I guess having paid for a family 2 bedrooms suite meant we had high expectations! From the first moments arriving on the ship and having to fight to get a table for lunch, then being told decent champagne wasn't part of the ultimate package we paid for (it mentioned Moët when we signed up online but the staff on board denied all knowledge) to then finding the staff at kids club were gruff and not particularly kind to our littlest travellers, we were disappointed.
Highlights included the bridge tour (great), Chops Grille (but book early as we didn't realise all the decent places book out and you are left with the 'trough' (windjammers) or dining room which is as personalised and special as you would expect for a place that does 1000 covers a night (ie, not great). Our friends with older kids did better as the options for activities were better (even the pool wasn't great for the little guys as the babies pool was freezing and the main heated pool rocked so much it was unsafe for the toddlers unless each held by an adult all the time. Overall, it was an interesting experience but I wouldn't do it again.
Ok but not wow. The constant rattle of the ship made sleeping without earplugs hard. And our suite attendant was just leaving so every day almost delivered the info addressed to other guests etc :(
