After reading mostly negative reviews of the Quantum of the Seas sailings it was with a little hesitation that we embarked on our cruise. My husband and I have sailed previously on Rhapsody, Radiance, Voyager, Oasis and Celebrity Solstice as well as other cruise lines so this was not our first rodeo. We are in our late 40s and were travelling with two much older people (late 70s) and a 6yo.

I cannot speak highly enough of this ship, it was wonderful in every way. We had booked our shore excursions, shows, on board entertainment and dynamic dining many months in advance with no problems (we are a group of 6 in two separate balcony cabins). Whilst on board we had no trouble changing dining times or show times if we wished and we found the dynamic dining to be fabulous! We received excellent service in EVERY restaurant and the food was interesting, varied, beautifully presented and often inspired (we especially enjoyed The Grande, Chefs Table, Jamie's and Wonderland).

Embarkation was quick and easy, from curbside to eating at the Windjammer was approximately 20 min and that was checking in 6 of us!

Port Reviews

San Juan

We rode the free hop on hop off train and it was fantastic. Took us to all the major sites around San Juan and we then walked the forts, very interesting and amazing views.

Barbados

We organised to spend the day at the Hilton Barbados and although the resort itself was lovely the food was not very good and it turned out to be an extremely windy location, so not as enjoyable as it could have been.

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

We only arrived in Bayonne to board the cruise so we did not get to see around New Jersey at all. Embarkation was smooth and quick. The sail away was cold. We sat in the Adults solarium for sail away and it was a lovely location for views.
