Let me start off by saying that I was a first time cruiser. I guess I had higher expectations because of what I see on the sites. Those photographers sure know how to sell it! lol Anyway, we paid about 1750 for an 11 day cruise on the Triumph and we got a room with a window. This price does not include the excursions or drinks. My fiance owed about 600 after all of his and 400 on mine. Also, we bought stuff on the islands and so the total was still more than that. Anyway...
We get to port and the guy where you leave luggage asked us if we knew what room we were in and we did not. He started yelling at us about the fact that he did not have the info and we would just have to wait and blah blah blah. Super rude, just not the way I wanted to start my trip. I called carnival and got the info so that I didn't have to hear this guy yell at me anymore.
The first mistake I made was letting them choose the room for me. We got a TINY room at the very very back of the ship. It was room 2462. Im not sure if rooms are typically very hot, but this room was so hot! I let them know and they said it was fine. The little guy who came for turn down service was nice enough to find me a fan. It helped, but I later found out that this was not exactly normal when I was moved to another window room the last day before the cruise ended. I really wish they had moved me sooner. I had let them know I was on a chemotherapy medication that made me really hot and they didn't even care! Well, to get to the point I was finally moved when POOP was coming up form the shower. When I asked them about it they said that was NORMAL! WHAAAATTTTT?! I had to nag and nag for them to move me to another room. That room was way bigger then the one I was in and so much cooler! I was so angry! I felt like they could care less! So I recommend you NOT get that room unless you want lots of itty bitty poop pieces and poop water coming up from the shower. I later found out this ship was the one that got stuck out at sea and there was dirty water in a bunch of places etc.
