7 days on the Oceana..
We (5 adults from the ages of 28-60) sailed on the Oceana on the 15th April for 7 nights, I have reviewed the different aspects of the ship below.
Embarkation – we flew to Genoa with Thomson from Manchester, nice enough flight if not a very small plane but fine for 2 hours.
Cabin was nice enough, we did book a cabin that we thought was opposite for my Mum however as the cabins are odds on one side with even numbers opposite she was actually at the other side rather than opposite the room, this was ok though and her room was also as nice as ours. She did say if she were to cruise again she would need a window or balcony as it was very dark.
The Stewards were very nice and never seemed to clock off, the same cant be said for all staff and I do think they have the bum deal compared to others on there who seem to jump off at every port and are rarely seen whilst at sea.
Embarkation port - didnt look very much portside, a couple we spoke to said it was their least favourite stop as they said it was industrial and not much there, we didnt visit so cannot tell you myself.
Breathtaking! a quick stop is not enough you should spend the week, it is just beautiful! When the boat is docked the landscape from the ship was just gorgeous.. not a freight port like alot of thew others!
Lovely stop although it was mega busy! Venice was alot larger than I thought and it was easy to walk miles off track around the winding squares and bridges. Very pretty though and a Gondola ride is a must. I would recommedn if theres a few of you to do it yourself as the prices are set at 80 euros whereas on the ship they are around £45 per person
