This was my husbands and my 2nd cruise with Royal, the others were with Celebrity and Carnival. We mostly chose this itinerary because of it being a 8 night cruise. We had been to 2 of the ports before (St Marrten and San Juan) but were really looking forward to St Kitts and Labadee. We cruised on Freedom in 2007, shortly after she starred sailing, Indy was the same layout, not too big or too small.
Embarkation: We got to the Port later in the morning and breezed through, we were on the ship around 12:30, had a celebratory cocktail, then went right put to our cabin at 1:00... to find all our luggage at the door!!! We met out our cabin steward, Caswyn, and knew we were going to be taken care of perfectly. He was so friendly and professional the entire trip, made our vacation wonderful.
Ports: They are what you make them. We had been to St. Marrten and San Juan before, so we just walked about, shopped, ate and had drinks. Sooo relaxing and no pressure. St Kitts we booked a private excursion with Thenford Grey, this ended up being a 6 hour excursion...very informative and really good value for the cost. Our tour guide was great.. he pointed out all sorts of landmarks, gave out lots of info about the Island, stopped a fews times and had a stop over at a beach for 2 hours. There of course there was that one person who was never going to be pleased and was vocal about it the whole trip. I would recommend them in a heart beat. Labadee was beautiful! There is so much to do, unfortunately everything costs though. The beaches are wonderful but get crowded fast unless you are high up in the Crown and Anchor Club or are in the suites, you get first access to the closer more accommodating beach. But it is beautiful. Beware the market, it has locals very aggressive to get your business.
