We are almost platnium on Carnival. Have 1 more to go, I believe. But things are changing so much, not sure we will get there.
The Valor is a nice ship-kind of an odd decor/theme, but very comfortable. We were with a group of 8, all adults. Had a ocean view room-#2474, all the way in the back on deck 2. It was an oversized-odd shaped room, and we loved it. Very large.
Starting off, they took our small desk-top fan out of our suitcase-the one we always sail with, stating it was a fire hazard-likened it to having an iron in the room. Really? Said we could get it back at 0630 last day of cruise-we just left it. Thought that was rediculous, are they next going to prohibit curling irons? They did bring us one of their fans though, was much bigger, and we enjoyed that. Our room steward was great, but you have to ask for ice and a bucket. Not provided otherwise. Also, the little shell in the bathroom that was filled with freebies before is no more. They just leave the empty shell.
Odd shaped at the back of the boat. Very large with a big window. Was very quiet, did hear the hum of the engines, which we enjoy. No overhead noise and the hallway was quiet. Has a "door to the doors", leading to our room and the one next door. Can only take 2 passengers, but if you have a grandbaby in another room, would be great to take a pack and play and have room for them to play and sleep over.
The beach is right there when you walk off the boat. Beautiful water and sand. Great snorkeling there also. They there is Margarativille. The biggest one, I believe. For $50 you get a day pass, all you can drink and lunch. A live DJ and huge pool. Lots of fun. Beach chairs are free there also. Lots of shade.
