We were not pleased and did not have a enjoyable experience with RCCL. This was our thirty eight cruise and are forth on RCCL. Let me start by saying , I can over look the small things on board a ship, but it is the big picture that concerns me. We felt RCCLhas cut back, so much that it takes away from the cruise experience and the enjoyment of cruising on their ships. The cutbacks on board are very noticeable and in poor taste, charge more for the cruise and give less. The company has lost site of the cruise experience being offered to its guests and is more driven by the need to get more revenue by offering less in service, which takes presidence over everything else.

Positive: Embarakation/Disembarkation was painless process and weent well. We were able to boaed easily and both were quite efficient. The staff were friendly, heipful, courteous and went out of their wat to try and help or resolve issues. The stateroom was spacious and in good shape for the age of the ship. The only issue we had was the bathroom, which was very ssmall in comparison to other cruise lines. Our cabin steward was friendly and did a good job keeping the room clean.

Negatives: On our first day when we boarded the the Jewel of the Seas, I called room service to order a bottle of rum from the ship to have in our stateroom. In the past the ship would charge you a dee of $60.00 to $70.00 dollars to purchase a bottle. My wife and I like to have a rum and coke and relax in our stateroom prior to getting ready to go to dinner. RC said they would not and could not accommodate us with this request. Remember, we are two adults with no kids in our room. I went down to guest srrvices and talked with the manager , who said he to could not make this happen. Nothing but apologies were offered and he to agreed that this policy was stupid. You wonder why people try to bring alcohol on board the ship? Having served twenty eight years in the military and most of that in over seas this was most disturbing experience. When told to use room service it took over 45 min or more for then to bring a drink to our room and most of the ice had melted. Sad.
