First of all let me say that I had a terrific time with all of our friends on the cruise. It made for quite a bit of fun and excitement. We were all travelling with our kids so everyone had someone to hang out with that they knew.

We arrived at Cape Liberty at around 12pm and got ready to board. This was a new Port for us to leave at and it was quite organized. When we registered we asked for NONE of the kids to have charge privileges on their sea pass cards as we knew that would cause quite a bit of trouble !!

Our balcony room was quite nice, clean and well kept. The only thing that I did not like was the lack of storage especially when we all had big suitcases to store. Once we were re-aquainted with our friends we settled for the evening. The trouble started when we found out the kids had charged over $100 at the arcade and gift shop ! When investigating further at the front desk we learned that the kids cards were never removed from the charge account - you More must go in person and ask that they have absolutely NO privileges. If they want to go to the arcade they must put CASH on their cards.

The seas were pretty rough the whole cruise. We were at the front of the ship so we definitely felt it more that the others that were in the back or middle. Moving forward I will only book a room in the middle of the ship. Do not believe someone that tells you that that ship is so big it hardly moves !! Day 2 at sea the norwalk sickness that travelled like wildfire started with our group. We had 1/2 of the 32 people sick at one time or another during the 10 day cruise. There were a couple of folks that even had to miss the day trips at various ports ! When doing a poll on the ship with random people, it seemed like 1/3 - 1/2 the cruisers experienced this gastro virus !!!

The employees were very busy cleaning ALL surfaces and providing Purell wipes or gel however this did very little when so many were sick ! By the end of the cruise all surfaces were spotted and sticky with drips from the disinfectant. I don't know how they were going to clean up the WHOLE ship in time for the next group of people arriving 4 hours after we all left the ship on the last day !

A few highlights: St.Thomas - Beautiful, we all went minus a few others who were sick to Megan's Bay Beach. Very crowded but close by.

Labadee - Great beach for kids - very expensive to participate in activities for kids. Best deal was the jet ski.

Samana - Not a great place - poor beaches - Many Many people bothered you when you get off the ship.

San Juan - Cute place - No beaches - good shopping however we found store owners a little rude. We were only there for about 4-5 hours due to a delay with a sick passenger being air lifted off the ship at Grand Turk.

All in all great ship - beautiful! love the Promenade and gift stores ! The shows were great, especially the comedy.

Downfalls:

Virus that infected the ship Lack of activities for 15 - 18 year olds Need better Ports of call Drinks were very expensive on board Food OK - I had better on Princess Cruise

Overall a OK vacation but not worth the money spent - especially when 2 of my family members were stuck in bed sick for 3 days ! Less
