Celebrity Solstice Review

A belated report on a 12 night cruise that my wife and I took last November on the Celebrity Solstice from Sydney to Auckland via Melbourne, cruising Milford, Doubtful and Dusky Sounds, with stops at Dunedin, Akaroa, Wellington and Tauranga, before disembarking in Auckland. There we joined an 18 day coach tour of North and South Islands which we thoroughly enjoyed and were gobsmacked by the varied and magnificent scenery and overwhelming friendliness of all the non-avian Kiwis we me . As a patriotic Australian, perhaps over the years I have been known to make the odd disparaging comment about both Kiwis and their habitat. Sorry cheps, I take it all back, great country, lovely people.

But back to the ship itself. I was quite impressed with the ship and the crew. The standard of housekeeping was excellent. The polyglot crew, 21 nationalities I was told, were efficient, always courteous and helpful. Overall I was left with the impression of a well trained and well managed crew and ship.
