The good things: Food and staff attitude.

The bad: Woefully insufficient lifts and stair cases. Those in wheel-chairs had a torrid time; the able-bodied also when giving up their ride to allow the disabled to travel. In the mid lift section there were no stairs to use as an alternative. How can they get something so fundamental wrong! Cabins small and no provision for individual lighting in bed. Not possible to view a film in "The Studio" without heads or equipment hanging from ceiling in the way. How can anyone design a cinema where there is no unobstructed view of the screen!

Bridge players turned up at the Marlow Suite expecting provision for un-hosted bridge ( the daily paper promised provision for Whist and other card games). Bridge players were informed that there was no provision for bridge; not even playing cards. Worse than that, we were not allowed to take any of the decks of cards provided for Whist and we were not allowed to play in the same room as the Whist. It later became apparent that it is P&O company policy to deter any one from playing bridge; a letter from the captain in reply to one from a passenger said so much; but the captain did say that he would make shore management aware.
