This was mine and my two kids (ages 12 and 14) first cruise ever. Looking for something fun to do over spring break I felt I would get more bang fro my buck cruising with Norwegian Sky after comparing other prices and itineraries Getting on the boat was a fairly simple process. We arrived early (11am) and had a short wait while they allowed people to board by group numbers. All the staff were friendly and helpful. After boarding are rooms were not ready yet so we were directed to place our luggage in a special area until our room was ready. Only minor hiccup was I purchased the soda package and had to wait in line for 30 min to get our stickers placed on our rooms cards. They were 2 lines with only 2 employees and they were also handling people who were purchasing drink packages. I feel if you already prepaid for this when you booked the cruise you should not have to wait in line with the people wanting to purchase theirs as they took more time to learn about the different drink packages. we wore our bathing suits under our clothes and and had a backpack for essentials so we could enjoy the pool. The ship has 2 small pools and 4 hot tubs between the two pools. Not impressive by any means but no big deal. The buffet was excellent and never ever ate in the dining room the entire trip. In hindsight wish we would have tried it. Our room was ready at 1pm. Room was very small for 3 people but really we only slept and showered in there. I was not expecting much. Lots of storage space however which helped. We had a inside cabin. The bed was comfortable and our room was midship. Only noises I heard at night was a few other rooms doors slamming but was impressed as I expected to hear lots more noise but did not.

We did 2 excursions. !st one at Freeport. The Dolphin encounter, highly recommend) much cheaper than Atlantis and they allow you take pictures and video. 2nd excursion was Kayaking at Great Stirrup Cay. Highly recommend this one too! You kayak to a private beach and your guides show you lots of sea urchins and starfish. then a very short hike to a private beach where your group can swim then kayak back. It is more strenuous than it looks (2 miles total) but it is so beautiful you don;t really notice the blisters on your fingers till you return. We did not do an excursion at Nassau and if you are not doing one you should stay on the boat. We ventured around and was basically harassed by the locales to buy this or pay for that. It was quite annoying and we returned to the ship. Several passengers told me they were offered drugs while in Nassau. Alcoholic drinks on the ship were $10 and up a piece and bottled water $6. Next time I will bring my own water. Overall we had a wonderful time on our first cruise and look forward to sailing again!

Cabin was small (that was expected) but plenty of room for storage. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Hardly any noises at night that disturbed my sleep. Only a few room doors slamming was heard. Would recommend this room!
