My husband and I went on the Royal Princess for our honeymoon. We did the 10 day Caribbean cruise that went to St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, St. Thomas and Princess Cays. I've been travelling on cruise ships since I was seven years old - and have more than a few under my belt from all different cruise lines.

My husband and I were so excited for the ships itinerary but we were on the fence about the ship.

Check In @ Ft. Lauderdale: My check-in experience was horrible. We arrived to the port where the preferred check-in line for security was was longer than the regular. We decided even though we are platinum members just to check in through the regular line. Once we were through security staff then ushered us into the preferred check-in line to get our cruise cards. I was told by my travel agent (who is also my mother) to ask if there were any upgrades to cabins since princess did not upgrade us - even knowing it was our honeymoon. We were not impressed. The check-in attendant got mad at me and says that they never upgrade before getting on the ship (which I know is a lie - it's happened before). I was all upset and flustered before getting on the ship which was not the way I wanted to start my honeymoon.
