This is the 2nd time on NCL Jewel which was booked the very last minute. Since the last time has to say she went thru refurbishment and looks a LOT better. NCL took out the Chocolate Night and the lobster night but did have a sea food night on the last day. Cabin was clean and even when we did not wanted it cleaned, Sam cleaned it anyways.

Food was ok. Menu hardly changed from November 2014.

We had a meet and greet and it was nice to have the Sr officers come to it.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window

Cabin OG

Its is a cozy cabin but was absolutely fine for my husband and myself. This the first time on Deck 4. Plus was it was easy to go to port and come back. Even though was quite forward, I did not feel as much as the movement as when we had been on higher deck. On the flip side could hear the engine when we were taking on the port. There was some incident when a passenger / crew was sick on our way back and ship made a quick unscheduled stop at cozumel and I woke up 'ze of the noise. It was not bad at all under any circumstance. Just a small vibration. I am a mom so i am a very light sleeper. My hubby did not wake up at all.... We had more than enough storage space.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

we walked around and went to Wet Wendy's for a drink and some Nachos. Nothing remarkable. An average port. Next time might go the the bar near Mega Mart (near the Pier) and hang out at the beach for free.

Belize City

Walked around the shops and came back. If you go outside the terminal there are peddlers just say no politely and keep walking. Felt safe enough. Had some fresh cold coconut water for $2.00

Roatan

Another average port. just walked around and came back. you can get WIFI connect at some stores if you buy margarita for $2 or there is a small booth set where you can get WIFI for $5 / 1 hr or $10 for whole day. Beats NCL's exorbitant WIFI charge.

Houston

Even though we were past passengers, they did not give any priority boarding and mini fridge will be sealed till you get into the international waters.........Have taken multiple cruise and so far Houston is the worst. i cannot see myself taking a cruise from there.
