I am going to try to spare future readers the difficulty in slogging through any comments about my flight to LA, hotel accommodations in LA, etc. and cut right to what I was actually looking for before I went on this cruise: Prices and payoffs.
I can summarize our overall cruise by saying: It was great, given that we are not the kind of people who go ballistic if we don't have towel animals every day. With realistically low standards, we were actually pretty happy. Our level 5 picture window cabin was spacious and comfortable with plenty of hangers. My husband commented on how friendly and helpful almost all the staff were, and I did give out a TASTE card to one particularly helpful staffer in the Star Bar.
*Best value for your money: Romance Package Honeymoon/Anniversary ($79 per cabin). Includes champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in your room at embarkation, dinner in Le Bistro one evening with a complimentary bottle of wine and cake, canapes in your room, and a champagne/cake party. Total value (by my estimation: $40 for the in-room champagne and food, $50 for the Le Bistro dinner and $10 for the champagne/cake party. Total = $100, for only $79).
Plenty of room for me and my 6'4" husband. Sheets were a little stiff and noisy, but we had plenty of pillows. A great view from the picture window on Deck 5. Closet was big enough with enough hangers for 2 people for a 1 week cruise. The cabin was generally pretty quiet except when people let their children run loose in the halls.
