I know I just pored over reviews before our cruise and it helped so much. Just to pay it forward:

Background: 10 cruises 6 with Royal DH and myself 62 & 64

We arrived in Ft Lauderdale one day prior and stayed in Hyatt Place (not the closest one to the pier) we knew they had a shuttle from the airport for free but read it takes an hour. Caught a cab and sure enough, he headed to the wrong Hyatt Place. I had given him the address but he didn't listen. Turned around headed to the other one. Can cost should have been $13 and was $20. Still faster than Hyatts shuttle. There are no restaurants close by but they offer free shuttle to several. We ate at Red Lobster and Na k to the hotel for an early evening. This hotel also offers a fee paid cruiseport shuttle, but again we took a cab. 12-13 minutes and $15.
