Like any of you, we were very psyched about our upcoming vacation. We're seasoned travelers and we've been around. We like cruising because of it's relative ease and we've cruised more than half a dozen times on Carnival and Norwegian ships. Truth be told, we've never found Norwegian to be particularly good or accommodating or responsive in terms of customer service, but because they conveniently cruise out of Manhattan, we've used them a few times. This time, we flew to Miami to catch the Epic. We originally booked a plain 12th deck balcony room, but as our date approached and prices for 'mini suites' dropped, being a sucker for an upgrade, we got a 'free upgrade' to an 8th floor 'mini suite'.

Now, I'll preface this whole thing by saying we didn't like the Epic for a number of reasons, mostly starting with lost luggage on day one (it appeared later that night). We ended up kind of unhappy with the cabin and based on my experience in the wavy little room, I cant imagine how unhappy we would have been in our plain-jane, maybe less equipped balcony room.

I have to say, the room was fine (for the most part) and loaded with terrific storage space, but by no means would I classify it a 'mini-suite'.
