Sail Date: May 2013

Went on this cruise in May 2013. Short one along the Straits of Malacca with stops at Malacca and Penang. Boarding and final disembarkation took really long time, over two hours, which was a bit of an issue for my mum. Ship facilities on the whole were clean and well kept. As noted in some online reviews, there is a decisively cheesy, retro feel to the décor, which was not a bad thing for me. I kinda enjoyed the Venetian/Pompeii elements scattered here and there, and the way corridors and alleys lead you abruptly to new facilities. Gives the impression the ship has lots for you to discover.

Cabin was comfortable and clean. Nightly entertainment was of very high standards, and what I looked forth to each day. The food, however, disappointed. I'm not a fussy eater and I don't mind repetitions. But watered-down coffee and tasteless broth for noodles, amongst others, were being served day and night. Standards improved a little after the second day but generally, meals still weren't anything to look forward to.

Shore excursions were managed by local agencies and on the whole, efficient and well priced.
