This was our 3rd time on the Pearl. We are Platinum members and have always enjoyed NCL. This time there was a definite difference in service standards ( I am really not too fussy). On several occasions our room wasn't cleaned until after 2 Pm although we were out of cabin by 8AM. When we requested items like an extra pillow, the request was either not met or done a few days later. Service in unpaid restaurants was very slow.. ex: 15 minutes to get a coffee in Summer Palace at 8 Am when there may have been 50 people in the entire dining room. We had 1 fantastic bartender at Sky High Bar , but the rest didn't bother to come out from behind the bar. I think the automatic 18% tip may have something to do with this. We travelled with some friends. One couple stayed for the first component(11 days) and then went to the Sky for a 4 day cruise. They said the difference was dramatic. On the Sky everyone was smiling and service was great. What is happening on the Pearl that is affecting the staff in such a negative fashion? This is the first time in years that we did not purchase a Future Cruise Credit. I was a loyal customer.. not so sure any more
