Cabin: Balcony

We signed up for the 10d package with 2 pre-cruise nights at the Waikiki Beach Marriot. Due to a flight delay we arrived late and had to check in at the hotel rather than the NCL office.

Day 1-2 Oahu:

Marriott: We had an ocean view balcony with a great view of the ocean and sunset. The room was clean, but there was no soap or bath products when we arrived. We called the desk who said they would send it right up - it never arrived until housekeeping came the next day. The carpet was worn, but otherwise things were nice.

Balcony

We had a port side, forward balcony on deck 10. It was nice - sort of like a single dorm room with a king sized bed. Of course the bathroom/shower was small, but that's ok. The room was very clean and our steward was fantastic. Towel animals, fresh towels and ice cubes daily. There is a couch, desk/chair, table, safe, mini-fridge (minibar), an hairdryer in the room. The TV options are very limited - wish there was a channel guide or schedule provided. Balcony was adequately sized and provided a nice breeze and view. We spent a lot of time out there. They provide robes, beach towels, dispensers for hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo.

When docked in Maui, we had a (clean) water leak just outside our bathroom door that resulted in a very wet carpet that we found in the late evening. The staff was fantastic and went above and beyond to address the issue. The way they handled the situation really made a huge difference. They vacuumed the water and placed driers in our room when we were gone, then used a dehumidifier. They offered to move us to another cabin, but be chose to stay since we liked our location. It took ~2-3 days to fully dry, but it really wasn't a big deal. They checked on us frequently to be sure the problem was resolved and sent us chocolate covered pineapple and some on-board credit for our troubles.
