Not being a fan of the big city, I was immediately irritated by the inaccurate location that was provided for parking. The address that was provided to us did not get us to the parking area with our GPS. When we did finally find it, we were gouged for $280 to park for the week. We chose to drive because we didn't want to be dependent on bus or train schedules. The upgrade to the Haven paid immediate dividends with priority boarding that bypasses the rest of the masses. We quickly got on board and settled into our room.

We very much enjoy cruising and this one did not disappoint. We attended the Cirque show on the first night and, although the food was mediocre, the show was excellent. We had seen a cirque show at a large venue before and were not wowed. Up close and personal like this show, however is a completely different experience. The Haven paid dividends here as well. The show is included at no cost for the first night of the cruise only.

We have quibbles about the itinerary with not much to do at Port Canaveral. We decided to go to Universal. The ship sponsored bus is way overpriced and, with an hour trip each way, after docking late, we were left with a little under 5 hours to enjoy the park. It isn't nearly enough. Atlantis is a fabulous experience and we had ample time there, but with 4 ships docked at the same time, it was unbelievably crowded. Great stirrup cay was a fantastic day a the beach. Get a cabana.

Cabin Review

The Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin H5

The cabin was a bit larger than the standard balcony stateroom that we normally get. it had a true king mattress, not just two singles pushed together. Our teen child was comfortable on the pullout sleeper. The walkthrough closet was nice as was the considerably larger bathroom. The full sized tub and shower was also a pleasant surprise. There was an unpleasant odor emanating from the bathroom. I couldn't quite place it, but it was similar to a body odor type of smell. I suspect it may have been the toilet water. The room was laid out very efficiently with plenty of places to stash all of our things without the room feeling cluttered. TV programming is abysmal.
