The Quantum of the Seas is a beautiful ship, and has some innovative experiences that we have not found on other cruise ships. However, just as we learned on other new ships, not everything will go well until the crew has established all of their processes and routines.
First, 2 big cautions: The sofa bed is very small, and will be a tight fit if you are planning on having 2 people sleep on it.
And, remember to sign up for shows, as some shows require reservations.
sleeping is a tight fit for four people.
The onboarding process is steamlined, with no long lines like most ships. Don't arrive too much ahead of your scheduled time, as you'll be sitting and waiting. They ran out of coffee by 11 am, so hopefully they can better accommodate waiting.
We like San Juan! There are plenty of tours available when you get off the ship, at a very reduced cost, if you want to have a ride around the city before taking a walking tour. We paid $10 for our guided tour, and went to New San Juan, the capital building, and the forts.
Not much too do here. There is some local shopping, but they are pushy and assertive, so be prepared to just walk away. Don't fall for their trick of trying something, as they will quickly engrave it and force you to purchase it.
