We live in Florida and drove to FLL the day before. We had a great room at the Hyatt Place Downtown that I reserved through Priceline. The room was great and had a huge HDTV and a bedroom and livingroom with a fridge. We explored the port and beach area the day before and loved the view of the Port with all the ships. We went to the Hard Rock that night and had dinner there.

The morning of the cruise we were up early, easy check-out, breakfast at Denny's and then to the Port. We had VIP embarkation due to booking the suite and were first through and on the ship about noon. Embarkation and the workers at the terminal were great. The crew on entering, as all Carnival crews were terrifically friendly. The Miracle was gorgeous.

We were to Horatio's on the Lido and had lunch at the buffet then sat at the pool till our room was ready. We were in our room by 1:30. Our cabin was fantastic. Bed area, sofa, fridge, safe, dressing area, bathroom with shower/jacuzzi tub, plenty of room. Two sets of huge closets (one in the room and one in the dressing area) and plenty of storage.
