We took a three night cruise from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico round trip. Check in went very smooth with no long line. We actually waited longer to get off the boar when we returned. We had a balcony room which was quite comfortable. We were traveling with another couple and our rooms were next to each other, but there was no adjoining door between the rooms - however the steward was able to open the door between our two balconies which was great. Ensenada was no big deal - but we didn't take the trip to see Ensenada - it was just a bonus (although we did have a nice lunch and some wonderful Churros - and I bought a nice hat!) We found all of the staff we interacted with to be very friendly and helpful.

The biggest thing for us though was the FOOD! We were able to find something to eat from the moment we got up until the moment we went to bed - I guess there was even food available all through the night. My favorite were the pastries for afternoon tea and an unforgettable "goat cheese mouse with garlic sabayon" that they served in the dining room one night. The buffet always had some great food offerings till 11:00 PM. The International café also offered some very nice savory and sweet pastries and snacks all day long. We didn't buy the "special" coffees because we were perfectly happy with the "free" coffee available in the buffet all day long.

We did spend some time in the Casino and found a set of video poker machines that had reasonable pay schedules. If there was any negative, it was the lack of adequate parking at the port of Los Angeles, but this turn out well because they sent us to an overflow lot that was free! We will be back!

Balcony

Cabin BA

Cabin was more than adequate for a 3 night cruise - not sure how I would feel if I had to spend 30 days - but with the balcony and all of the public rooms I don't think it would be a problem. Our steward was very nice and helpful.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Easy to find. Right off the freeway. Quick trip from Long Beach. Insufficient parking - but worked out OK. We had to go to an overflow lot that ended up being no charge.

Ensenada

We didn't take an excursion so we just walked around the downtown touristy shopping area. Had a nice (cheap) lunch, some wonderful fresh churros and bought a hat! It was just nice to get off the boat for awhile.
