We have only ever cruised with Celebrity (this being our fourth one!) as having really enjoyed all three of our previous ones, felt that we would be forever loyal to them? Our first cruise was on the Constellation (sister ship to Millenium), then the Eclipse and Equinox, so have sailed on an older ship so thought we knew what to expect from the Millennium; had a few concerns as having read all the cruise reviews prior to sailing, and feeling that perhaps people were either being picky or that some people were just too hard to please, we were quite shocked to find that we agreed with a lot of what they were saying.

As always we booked Concierge, and if you would like the truth, please save your money, it really is NOT worth the extra! The standards have dropped drastically since 3 years ago, which is a real shame as it had been so good during the past cruises. Embarkation was a breeze compared to the past three cruises from Miami; yes the ship is old, but we knew that anyway, it was also very tired, again we just accepted this; our room was very clean, a few tears in the valance, cigarette burns on the sink in the bathroom, but that's guests for you, but don't they have smoke alarms for this type of problem? We had a connecting door, and after the second day returned to our cabin to see thick grey masking tape all around the door...lovely to look at, NOT! Trip down to Customer Relations with a photo of door, they were horrified and said that they would sort it out ASAP. By Wednesday nothing had happened so another trip to Customer Relations, still horrified and more promises to get it sorted, if you are guessing you might be right....NOTHING had been done, so back again, and after admitting that this was NOT acceptable would get their Hotel Manager to come and see us....by this time we gave up, and that tape stayed on for the duration of our cruise. 5 star, I don't think so, doesn't even cover 2 star!

As part of Concierge you have fresh fruit in yiur room daily...3 apples for 5 consecutive days (could have got those ourselves from Ocenview Cafe), then remaining time we actually got two apples and 1 orange; no flowers, no shoe shine (not that we would have used it, but supposed to be another part of the package), canopies, didn't exist...so why pay the extra?
