I took an 8 night solo cruise on the Carnival Freedom to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan and Grand Turk. This was my second solo cruise and fourth cruise with Carnival. Overall, I had a very relaxing time and plan to take a winter cruise every year if I can. I broke up the misery of the northeast perfectly this year.

The Freedom was the biggest ship that I have been on to date and I really loved the additional food options it got from the Funship 2.0 upgrades. I didn't mind the playlist productions and also enjoyed the comedy club (which was standing room only 30 minutes before each show). I really wish Carnival would feature a comedian in the main show lounge for at least one night during a cruise so you don't have to fight for a seat.

My go to food options were Guy Fieri's Burger Joint, the burrito bar and the Mongolian stir fry. I also would partake in a slice of pizza on my way back to the cabin at night.

Interior

Cabin 4H

Standard inside cabin. Could sometimes hear noise above me from the spa. Overall, would book location again for its proximity to the Lido deck.

Port Reviews

San Juan

This is a great port for history buffs. I walked up to San Cristobal for a self guided tour and then made my way over to El Morro. I then walked back down to the cruise dock and stopped for a bite to eat and a Pina Colada. This is a great walking city and am looking forward to my return to San Juan someday.

Grand Turk

Very nice beach break. The only downside was that the water was a little too cold for my liking. This was the final port on my cruise and was a great way to end a relaxing trip.
