This was our first visit to Australia and so we wanted to see as much of the country as possible without too many flights or transfers by coach. It was a wonderful trip as we saw so many diverse places. Hobart was a surprise as we hadn't given it much thought. It was however a beautiful place. Port Douglas and the Kuranda Railway Gold Class was fabulous. The catamaran through the Whitsundays was simply memorable. Highly recommend it. Returning to the ship after each trip and having a sea day before next port gave us time to relax.

The ship itself was fine and we found the staff great. All were friendly and we had some great banter with them about the Cricket World Cup. We particularly enjoyed Crooners with pianist Liam Rider. We abandoned trying to see the shows as you had to be there at least half an hour before the show started in order to be assured of a seat. Comedians are not our thing and very little else appealed. Oh for the days when cruise ships staged shows worthy of Broadway.

Peter Anderson's astronomy talks were very enjoyable and star gazing from the top deck will be something we will remember for a long time. We absolutely loved the History talks with his wife, Evon Anderson but they were spoiled by the rude behaviour of people old enough to know better who persisted in wandering in during the talks, standing in the centre aisle and searching for a seat. Basic good manners requires that there should be absolutely no admittance during a talk and Princess needs to address this.

Cabin Review

Balcony

The cabin was clean with a very large closet, important on such a long cruise. It was quiet and the balcony was great, allowing us to enjoy the various sights en route.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

Did not take a tour due to the fact that we have friends in Sydney who were able to show us the city. Had this not been the case then we would have booked some tours independently.
