Just got back from the Southern Caribbean cruise on the Summit and was a very pleasant cruise overall. The ports were all on my want to see list and this was a nice time of year to visit. As many of the reviews stated, this is a 15 year old ship and in places shows it. We recently took a cruise on the brand new Royal Princess and were spoiled to the spotlessness of it. I'm surprised Celebrity doesn't use a Solstice class ship for such a popular cruise itinerary.

Pros-

-Smaller size of the ship was nice. Didn't feel crowded as the bigger ship do.

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2A

Cabin 2A

Staterooms were very small. Rust on balcony rail and dirty sliding door. Overall nice spot on the ship and good location when in ports.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Stayed in Old San Juan before the cruise. Town was very interesting and forts were great. Many good restaurants to pick from and felt safe during our visit. Stayed in the Old San Juan Sheraton because thought I could walk to ship. This turned out to be bad assumption and had to still take taxi to ship.
