After 17 years, she still looks nearly new! Refurbishing no doubt helped. It's nice having a not too tall ship. Don't have to climb too many decks to do things! Stayed in Cabin 7152 (AFT Corner Balcony) and it was nearly as roomy as a suite, but the WRAP-AROUND balcony is about 30 feet on the railing and about 10 feet from the cabin door at the apex.
Trip to Western Caribbean had frequent gusting cross winds, causing rocking / rolling of ship. Didn't see any sickness, but lots of wobly walking. Satellite TV service was fairly consistant, but limited choices and missed FoxNews that's offered on other competive cruise lines.
Food was well presented, but not superb in taste /selections. (2) of our family of eight were VEGAN, and the Matre D and waiter did a superb job catering to their needs/wants. No complaints there. Didn't like the lobster, seemed broiled, not boiled and dry. Had (2) tails, but they weren't that filling, and cold by time you ate them. Hot drawn butter on the table would have helped, but alas, not in main dining room. The food was below par as compared to other RCC cruises.
See above.
Spend $$$ at Diamond Intl for 90 faceted diamond ring. Wife loves it! If you spend OVER $500 in Mexico, Mexico will give you 8.97% rebate with certain vendors. DI is one of them.
Stayed overnight prior to cruise and at at Colulmbia Rest, pricey, but very nice. Stayed at HI Express and got cruise package that provided shuttle from airport to HI, then to ship, then from ship back to airport.
